This crossing is dangerous and unreliable
Reported via desktop in the Pedestrian wait button not working category anonymously at 10:52, Tuesday 3 May 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3497747.
I can see how many times in the past this has been reported but the fact now is the equipment at this crossing is not fit for purpose - the buttons rarely work, when they do quite often the wait request will turn itself off. This leaves people at risk of crossing a busy road of speeding cars and cyclists. Surely it's time to change the equipment to something more effective - please? It's a busy crossing with major bus stops either side and gets a lot of use which I would hope warrants better facilities.
Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. This has been investigated and we can confirm that there is a fault with the pedestrian wait button. We have therefore referred this to our contractors and it will be fixed within 28 days. Should you need anything else or have any questions, you may wish to contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234
Please also be aware that, all Action Scheduled reports are automatically closed after 28 days. However, the fault will be fixed within this timescale, which may be sooner, or in a few cases take a little longer
