The wait button isn't working
Reported via desktop in the Pedestrian wait button not working category by Keith Reed at 10:27, Wednesday 4 May 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3500520.
The buttons on the south side are very unreliable - they often just "forget" they've been pressed. The issue is marked as fixed, but it's not - it's been unreliable for months and still is a problem.
Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. This has been investigated and we can confirm that there is a fault with the pedestrian wait button. We have therefore referred this to our contractors and it will be fixed within 28 days. Should you need anything else or have any questions, you may wish to contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234
Please also be aware that, all Action Scheduled reports are automatically closed after 28 days. However, the fault will be fixed within this timescale, which may be sooner, or in a few cases take a little longer

During lockdown, I contacted TfL as this pedestrian crossing took a very long time to change to allow pedestrians to cross and sometimes never changed. It was repaired so that the lights changed quickly, but the repair only lasted for a short period (less than 1 month). It now takes a long time for the lights to change. This encourages pedestrians to cross a relatively busy road when the lights have not changed, which is dangerous.
