No Right turn sign being ignored.

Reported via desktop in the Worn out road markings category anonymously at 21:53, Tuesday 10 May 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3516927.

More people turning right now and near accidents every day more hooting day and night far worse than before the road works it’s not been built properly doesn’t stop right turn on to A217. It was a complete waste of money it’s not the answer.

  • I see I'm not the first to comment on this! It was clear as soon as we saw the early stages of construction that there was going to be no physical deterrent to stopping traffic turning right out of Lumley Road onto the A217. Yesterday I saw my first instance of this, middle of the day with plenty of traffic in both directions on the 217. The work was desperately needed but has been poorly designed. There is no signage In Malden Road, at the other end of Lumley Road - which is where most of the traffic comes from for this issue - and although we regularly see traffic doing u-turns once they've actually got to the junction with the 217 this is not possible when there are more than a couple of cars in the road. The real issue, as I mentioned in my initial response to the consultation process, is that this was only half a job. There needs to be no right turn out of Lumley Road and also no right turn for traffic travelling south on the 217 into Lumley Road as that is just as hazardous. A waste of money, as others have noted.
