Problems with traffic signal phasing

Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 17:28, Thursday 26 May 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3554405.

I have noticed that my 56 bus journey is suddenly being delayed by traffic light timings that are unnecessarily causing a traffic jam.

This is at the junction of Cricketfield Road, Downs Park Road, Queenpark Road and Pembury Road. At around 7:20 am (but probably all day), I have now in the past few weeks noticed that when we approach the junction from Cricketfield Road, that there is a long queue. Never had this before a couple of months ago.

I immediately worked out the main traffic lights (for Cricketfield Road and Pembury Road) just stay green for about 5 seconds and go red again. Annoyingly, the other quieter exits (Queenspark Road and Pembury Road) have little to no cars at that time and there are barely any pedestrians crossing. So it takes the important 56 bus about 3 sets of traffic lights to get passed when we would breeze passed it.

Can these lights be reviewed as something has changed for the worse.
