Disruption to business

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 15:14, Sunday 12 June 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3589744.

Dear sir/madame .

On behalf of MMAldn ltd, business @88-90 commercial road

Commercial road has been transformed into a giant live construction site with heavy machinery / drilling / traffic barriers and a very unwelcoming environment. (See videos or come see in person

In the meantime I try to run a business. I have a yoga / fitness studio/coffee shop @ 88 commercial road . Outside my premises is chaos. So I ask, how many people will come to enjoy a quiet peaceful yoga session, or how can someone relax while drinking a coffee in the midst of this roadworks chaos? I am losing customers

This unacceptable situation is meant to last another 6-8weeks .

While i understand that road works are necessary, You should also understand how this impact the revenue of my small business

Most importantly small businesses and their success are key to Tower Hamlets, to maintain and foster an open lively and inclusive community in tower hamlets. How are you going to support me and others during this roadwork chaos ? We humbly ask you what is the plan?

Are you going to provide financial support / grants?

Are you going to freeze business rates for the time the work continues (6-8 weeks ) and impact my (and others) business on commercial road ?

We look forward to your feedback and count on rely on your leadership to both understand and address our concerns

Kind regards Management
