Sewage on pavement and road
Reported via desktop in the Standing water category anonymously at 12:18, Thursday 16 June 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3601201.
The northbound carriageway of the north end of Rotherhithe Tunnel is covered in what smells like raw sewage. This can be seen running down the slope, close to the exit of the tunnel, and the liquid is being dragged up to the traffic lights by the cars driving through it. As this is supposed to be a tunnel for pedestrians, cyclists and cars, the former two are forced to walk or cycle on the opposite pavement to avoid the sewage, causing a major safety issue. This has been happening since approximately the middle of May and is a major health hazard to anybody using the tunnel on a daily basis.
Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. Your report has been investigated and we have now referred this to our contractors. If this is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If it isn't a safety issue, we will aim to resolve it within 28 days. Should you need anything else or have any questions, you may wish to contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234
Please also be aware that, all Action Scheduled reports are automatically closed after 28 days. However, the fault will be fixed within this timescale, which may be sooner, or in a few cases take a little longer

The raw sewage has been flowing into the tunnel for nearly a month now. TFL were formally aware back on 8th June and have still not fixed this urgent issue....too busy fining motorists whilst we put up with the sh*t. I call to the local press might help?
