Traffic lights activate incompletely
Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 23:41, Sat 2 July 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3642793.
This crossing requires activation of the pedestrian button on both sides of the road in order to cross in one session. This introduces unnecessary delay and risk to pedestrians. Clearly there is no reason why a pedestrian would wish to cross only one direction of traffic. Please can the lights be changed so that traffic is halted on both sides of the crossing if the button is pressed on either side. Currently one has to rely on someone else on the other side of the road pressing the button in order for the lights to turn red on both sides of the island. This unnecessary delay is resulting in pedestrians (often school children) crossing the road outside of the green man.
