This problem has not been fixed

Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 16:44, Sat 6 August 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3735292.

Having had a notification that this problem had been picked up and fixed, I was pleased but unfortunately the problem is the same and clearly has been for some time judging from other comments on this site. I have a video but was unable to upload. The traffic lights in question are on the junction of Bowell's Lane and Uxbridge Road heading towards the airport.

Updates

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. This was investigated by our team and we were unable to find any defects or issues at this location and the louvres are angled correctly. The louvres are designed to prevent a driver seeing the amber or green at a stop line in advance of their own stop line and as such going through their red signal. The stop lines are quite close to each other at this site so presents the issue you mentioned, however if the louvres were angled up slightly then there is the potential for drivers to misread the signals and drive through a red light. However, if the problem remains, you either resubmit your report with some more information and a photo. Alternatively, you can contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234 or by using this web form: https://tfl.gov.uk/ help-and-contact/ contact-us-about-streets-and-other-road-issues
