Traffic signals and road markings encourage accidents

Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 12:01, Mon 8 August 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3738347.

Approaching roundabout going north on Ealing Road, to turn right onto Great West Road. Green light is indicated to proceed and turn right on roundabout. At the same time traffic travelling south on B455 are given a green light to enter the roundabout. This causes a collision with traffic on the roundabout travelling from the south and turning right. Section 185 of the Highway Code bullet point one: "Always give priority to the traffic coming from the right, unless you have been directed otherwise by signs, road markings or traffic lights." The traffic lights direct traffic to ignore giving priority to the right and cause a collision. There should be give way markings on the road after the traffic lights on the B455 and before entering the roundabout. Otherwise, the traffic signal sequence should be changed.
