Resurfacing works left large mess

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 10:41, Wednesday 10 August 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3743801.

The resurfacing of a section of Lower Grosvenor Place was completed efficiently, but a large amount of tar and tarmac rubble has been left on the rest of the road and pavement.

The rubble is being thrown up by traffic, a hazard to vehicles, pedestrians and those siting outside the bars and restaurants at this bottom end of Lower Grosvenor Place. The tar also treads into properties.

Contracts need to be held to account. Leaving this level of mess is completely unacceptable. Residents and business should be compensated by the contractor and the mess needs to be cleared.

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. You will be pleased to know that our routine inspections had already picked up this issue I have requested that Ringway provide information on if any patching works have been completed in the area. I have also asked that they attend to clear up the debris and clear the footway regardless of ownership of works.
