Manhole cover exuding continuous water flow.
Every time I visit this location there is always a problem around this manhole cover.
Either the asphalt around it is cracking up and pothole forming or as last night a water flow from it then being spread along the road by traffic.
The manhole cover is marked CTV implying not one for water or sewerage.
Somehow there must be capillary action causing the water flow then them in die course loosens the asphalt and causes potholes.
The proprietor of the Blythe Hill Tavern right by it says it never gets permanently fixed - just bodged with every repair visit.

If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date. If it is owned by another company this will be passed to them for a permanent repair.
