Wait button not working at all
Reported via desktop in the Pedestrian wait button not working category anonymously at 17:52, Fri 2 September 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3798649.
In addition to the previously reported problems which have clearly either not been resolved (3 years+ already) or have reoccurred, the wait button to the right on the south side (Abercrombie Street) of the road does not function, i.e. it fails to send a request (no light shows). The button on the left side works but sometimes drops without a green light. I suspect cabling is loose or damaged and will need repairing. This should be urgently fixed as the road is constantly very busy and this fault increases the risk of serious accidents, as pedestrians are often witnessed crossing on red light out of impatience or frustration with the signal's unresponsiveness.
