Thank you so much for your response!!
You gave us this schedule of work, which is lovely and all the parties involved which is lovely again but this was not my question...
I have not asked for this, yet my real questions and concerns were not answered...?
I accept your apologies on behalf of 10 000's drivers affected daily but this is not enough I am afraid....!
My main question is why these road works are not more INTENSE as they should be? It could be completed in a matter of a few days if only was there anyone working, maybe a couple of weeks but not MONTHS?? Months because there is nothing happening...? Why there are no people working on-site?? Where are they?? Why are they not working in the mornings? Why not work in the afternoons?? How many hours per day do they work, one?
Can someone try to imagine how many people are affected because of this??
I'm not disputing reasons for works and I'm not disputing nor asking for agencies which are involved, what I am pointing out is the intensity of this road works. Every time I pass there is nothing going on every time I pass. Why this work are in a SLOOOOOOW slow motion??? Once there was a couple of workers during the day, this is clear madness....?? I can't believe how POORLY planned is this. Is this managed at all?
Diversions look beautiful on paper, but there are no diversions trust me, the whole area is stuck and standstill. To Heathrow, it now takes 2 hours + instead of 45 minutes before in my case so please don't tell me about diversions, I have tested them all, and none works...
I summarise my questions: WHY these road works are not super INTENSE as they should be for MOTORWAY M4!! Why there are almost never any people working on-site?? Where are they?? Why does nothing happen in the mornings? Not much activity in the afternoon?? How many hours per day do they work, one? Half?? Why these works are in a SLOOOOOOW slow motion???

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. TfL appreciate that these works are causing serious traffic disruption and we apologise for any inconvenience caused, but we assure you these works will avoid the need for more disruptive repairs at a later date.
The works are only on the bridge; the coned off lane (traffic management) over the elevated section of the M4 is to channel traffic down to one lane to enable traffic to pass the works safely. There are no works in this section of the traffic management.
As for the works on the bridge; There will be times when no one is working on site as working continuously 24/7 is not possible because of the nature of the work. There are some activities that require ‘curing time’. For example (i) Waterproofing the structure, (ii) Placing concrete and (iii) Resurfacing the carriageway. These activities requires hours of curing time which prevents or restricts other site activities.
Therefore, there will be many times when driving past the site, there will be no-one working as materials are being cured, which we accept is enormously frustrating after being caught up in traffic delays.
Where and when we can, we are maximising our operations to speed up the overall programme including working at night and at weekends whilst balancing safety, quality of work and the impact to motorists.
