Flooded subway
Reported via desktop in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 21:24, Thu 3 November 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3937551.
I am reporting that once again the subway near to Tolworth Girls’ School is badly flooded.
Your teams have cleared the drains on previous occasions but I think a more permanent solution is required.
This subway is used by many students from the two secondary schools that are in close proximity and it causes major disruption and lateness when it’s flooded.
Some students attempt to walk through the dirty water, which is a worrying health hazard.
I would be grateful if you could attend to this matter as quickly as possible as the rain is still heavy so it will otherwise remain flooded for the next few days.

Still not resolved and more rain forecast. This is used by hundreds of children twice a day. Don’t just clear it. Stop it from happening.

8/11/2022: the subway is still flooded this morning.
It is indeed a safety issue as some children will walk through the dirty water. And what about dogs..it could be a health hazard to them too.
Also, if a disabled person, perhaps a wheelchair user, tried to get across this could cause a big safety concern.
Please attend to this urgently with a permanent solution.

9 November As above - the underpass is flooded to way over ankle boot height as you an see from the photo - I have just tried to tiptoe through and the filthy water poured over my walking boots - how are the children who use the subway to get to school supposed to sit in soaking footwear all day? At least I can take my boots off in the office. It needs sorting and I have no idea why this hasnt been done before. It has been reported so many times.

As of 9 Nov the issue remains unresolved.the main contributory factor is ponding on the a3 offslip in wet weather following resurfacing of carriageway some time ago.large amounts of surface water deposited on ramps in wet weather by passing traffic

The drain has been ‘cleared’ by dragging the blockage less than a foot from the grille. Please tell me this is not TFL’s idea of solving the issue. This will obviously be washed back, reblocking the drain in the next light shower.
