Traffic lights stuck on red
Reported via mobile in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 12:10, Mon 14 November 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3962523.
The traffic lights control a width restriction on Mill road/thorney Mill road west drayton UB7 and since early this morning they are stuck on red, which unfortunately is causing chaos and road rage, I did notice on the mill road side one set of signals has been hit and leaning over

Hi Team, It’s impacting every day for me while dropping my kids to school and back work. Almost we are waiting for 5 to 7 minutes to cross the bridge.

This traffic signal is notoriously ill programmed. It has 3 main problems - 1. The sensors doesn't work at times meaning one end gets stuck at red with no relief in sight for several minutes. We have been stuck on multiple occasions, and on one occasion, being the first Car at the traffic lights, was stuck for 15 minutes and my partner had to get down, walk to the other side and risk her life to stop the oncoming vehicles. ii. The time gap between signal switching from one end to other is too short (10-20 seconds currently). As this narrow bridge has bollards with very tight space to go through - When the vehicles passing through is big or if there is a tentative or cautious driver taking time to pass through, it causes vehicles to queue up within the narrow bridge and a traffic grid lock being caused. iii. On the Iver end (western end), there is a much wider access usually guarded by a gate. Why is this gate shut all the time?
Can this be fixed ASAP please.

This is still impacting, and the problem is two fold 1) distance from traffic light to single gate is longer when going to iver frok west draytoj than the other way around. So when the signal turns red at west drayton end there is already a queue of vehicels trying to pass tyat narrow gate (cautiously) trying not to hit and by the time all cars pass tgroigh the gate tge singnal at iver end has turned frpm green to red. So cars going from iver to west drayton end have a very very short time to pass through creating a lot of road rage

Long Queue build up impacts our journey through this lane and delays our overall commute. Please fix the traffic lights

100% agree with the people comments on this traffic signal. It has created chaos multiple times for me personally and had to wait for longer in the queues for the signal to turn green. Please get it sorted.

I use this road regularly and majority of times signal is not working. It creates a chaos and there are chances of accident.
