Damaged drain cover or large pothole

On Sunday 27th November 2022 at approx 7.20pm I turned left from the West Cross Route roundabout onto the A40 Westway travelling West Bound towards Park Royal. Very near to where the A40 goes over Wood Lane I indicated and changed lanes driving over what sounded like a substantial hole in the road. It sounded like I hit something metal rather than a hole in the tarmac, however the driving conditions were such it was impossible to assess! Within a minute the tyre pressure monitors in my vehicle indicate I had a problem. I was able to thankfully safely pull off the A40 and change my front offside wheel. The wheel is beyond repair and I'm currently engaging with Volvo to get it replaced. I reported this issue to Hammersmith and Fulham council but have since been informed TFL have responsibility for this section of the A40. The driving conditions were dark and wet, there was a lot of traffic on the road and I was therefore unable at the time to revisit the scene and take photographs. Had I been riding a motorcycle my fear is the consequences would have potentially been fatal. Please can the road be checked and any damage repaired for the safety of other road users. I'm not entirely sure how much this incident will cost me but the replacement alloy wheel is £ 578.23. Please update me on the state of repair of this particular piece of road.
