Dangerous step
Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 20:28, Wed 21 December 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4051127.
Please can I draw your attention to the footbridge crossing Reigate Avenue A217. The final step on the south side of the bridge is dangerously high and there is no indication of the large drop to the pavement.
On 19th December I was crossing from Glastonbury Avenue with my daughter in her pram. Unaware of the large drop on the final step the pram fell forward causing it to topple over. My daughter sustained a bloody nose and bruised face, and required first aid at the near by Better Gym. I also sustained bruises as a result of falling to the pavement.
The large drop is clearly a danger for those with children, the elderly and those less able. Please consider making amendments to the step to ensure its future safety.
