Pedestrian crossing traffic lights still not working

Reported via desktop in the All out category anonymously at 10:36, Sat 31 December 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4071318.

On Thursday 22nd at 10:21, I reported (ref. FMS4052047) that "Temporary traffic lights have been removed but the permanent lights have not been switched back on." At 11:05 I received an email which stated "State changed to: Fixed" TFL closed the report. I passed the lights again on Saturday 24th they had not been fixed. I reported the matter again ref. FMS4056572. I received an email stating that “Our contractors are aware of this and if it is classed as an emergency it will be attended and made safe within two hours. Otherwise it will be within 24 hours.” “State changed to: Fixed”

Seven days later the lights have still not been fixed. Obviously pedestrian crossings are extremely low priority for TFL.

Updates

  • State changed to: Action scheduled

Updated by TfL at 11:36, Sat 31 December 2022

  • It is now 4 weeks since the traffic signals controlling the pedestrian crossing at the Hornsey Gate entrance to Finsbury Park were first disabled. This was done to facilitate utility works across the B150 which were completed before Christmas. They have remained disabled ever since and for no apparent reason. This has created a major safety hazard for the many pedestrians attempting to cross this busy main road on a blind corner in order to enter Finsbury Park. Please can the responsible authority reenable the traffic signals at this crossing as a matter of urgency.
