Man hole cover on Rushey Green is damaged, rocking and very noisy

The man hole lid in the bus lane outside Eric Lindsay Music shop on Rushey Green is very damaged, and is being supported by large rocks.

Whenever a bus goes over it (every 30 seconds) it makes a noise like a gun shot and this continues all day long (night bus route).

The noise can be heard as far away as Bradgate Road and Felday Road.

This is very damaged and needs replacing.

    Hello -- the area around the cover appears to be filled in now somewhat, though the cover itself is still making a loud noise when busses go over it, and the area still looks severely damaged.

    Please can you update as to weather this is being replaced, or if the work that has been done is all that will be done? Thanks

    It looks as if this has been filled in around the drain but has now been eroded again. And the drain is still making a lot of banging sounds when driven over.

  • The noise is getting LOUDER, and I cannot have my windows open because the sound scares the life out of my dog, and I also cannot SLEEP as night busses travel over the grate every 15 seconds!

    Please replace the damaged cover as a matter of urgency, this is a community nightmare now.
