The roots of the tree at the bus stop has lifted the paving slab.

Reported via mobile in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 23:10, Monday 16 January 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4138531.

I was heading towards the bus stop and hadn’t noticed the paving slab was lifted as the bus stop was quite busy. I tripped with both feet and fell flat on my face hitting my head on the ground and very near to the road. My 4 year old son was with me and I had to come round pretty quick to protect him from going near the road.

This is a highly dangerous location for a bus stop as it is so close to a busy street what with the station being so near too it does get rather overcrowded along with the lifted paving slabs it’s even more dangerous.

I hit both my knees on the ground, slammed my forehead on the paving slab that my headband went flying into the road. My son almost ran to pick it up. I could barely pick myself up and then when I did realised that I wasn’t ok and rang my husband to collect us. I was bleeding from both knees and my neck was painful to turn to the right.

The next day I took myself to A&E to check my head as I was experiencing very bad headaches and I couldn’t turn my neck.m without it causing me pain. My elbows were bruised and my shoulder felt very sensitive to move upwards and behind.
