Late night and early mornings, Vanbrugh Hill traffic lights stuck on red.

Reported via mobile in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 21:42, Thursday 19 January 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4151148.

The traffic lights for northbound traffic approaching on Vanbrugh Hill from Blackheath to Greenwich/Woolwich Road, are stuck on red during nights and early mornings. Presumably at night they are operating on vehicle detection only, but the motion detector does not look correctly positioned to detect traffic approaching the junction. It's that, or some other fault with the loop detectors in road, or other signal settings. Potentially dangerous to have to cross several lanes of perpendicular and oncoming traffic at staggered crossroads.
