Two developing potholes against previous backfilled trenches on eastbound lanes.
Reported via desktop in the Pothole (minor) category anonymously at 12:03, Thursday 26 January 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4172796.
There are two developing potholes on the eastbound lanes of Vauxhall Bridge about one foot square about two inches deep where the surface has cracked and collapsed. Each is against a previous backfilled trench. The trenches happen to run across the bridge between the lifebuoys which are a useful marker. This is a chronic problem as the trenches were backfilled with a different more solid material in contrast to the porous original surface. It appears rain and heavy tyres striking the back edge of the trench cause the original surface to collapse. It's such a shame after all the effort of re-laying the entire bridge surface last summer. My suggestion is to dig out the trenches and start again.
