@$ bus does not stop here

Reported via desktop in the Incorrect timetable information category by MICHAEL KENNEY of Reject Pot Shop at 17:07, Monday 30 January 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4186484.

Morrisons Bus Stop in Calk Farm Road shows the route and times of a bus that does not stop or even pass here. I sent you an image of the stop and of a note I had attached telling tourists where they can actually catch this bus. You have today sent a no reply email informing me that the matter has been attended to but all that you have done is to remove my note and left tourists in ignorance. Please write to rejectpotshop@aol.com explaining why you prefer that visitors to Camden Markets should delay the buses that do stop here by asking the drivers how much longer they will have to wait for a 24 bus. • The map on the right is some 20 years out of date. The only Southbound bus stop in Chalk Farm Road is between Belmont Street and Ferdinand Street and TFL calls it "Morrisons" because it is opposite a Morrisons supermarket. The No. 24 bus runs down Ferdinand Street and turns left into Chalk Farm Road and therefore does not pass the the Morrisons stop. However, this stop displays the times of the No. 24 buses and leads tourists to delay all the buses that do stop here by asking the driver why the bus is running so late. Last month I put a sign on this stop informing strangers wanting to catch the No.24 that they should walk round the corner to the real stop in Ferdinand Street. I wrote to you in the hope that you would erect an official notice and you replied that this has been done. However, all that you have actually done is to remove my sign and leave passengers to continue wasting the time of the drivers of bus numbers 27, 31 and 168. I assume that whoever you sent to deal with the problem has no local knowledge, so may I suggest that you send someone with an up to date A-Z Map and instructions to consult a local shopkeeper. I own the Reject Pot Shop adjacent to your stop and I am there between 11 and 6 from Fridays to Sundays. MICHAEL KENNEY 07885 369233. rejectpotshop@aol.com

  • One more detail. Your response to my previous correspondence refers to the @$ bus, which is less confusing if you use the lower case 24.

  • Hello for the past three days the bus stop CE opposite Morrisons has been closed for apparent road works but there is noting to suggest that there is any work going on.I have spoken to bud drivers route 168 who clearly just shrug there shoulders and don’t know why it is closed.we have lot of billable and elderly people who find it hard to walk to the nearest stop which are not really close looking at 10min walk just to hawley street the next stop.
