Damage to road surface
Reported via desktop in the Pothole category anonymously at 14:18, Wed 8 February 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4214830.
This stretch has previously been reported but I would like to stress that there is a large part of the road that has bowed.
This is causing our properties to shake when large vehicles pass over it. At 4AM last night I was woken up by a HGV bouncing over it - so much so I could hear the load moving.
It is difficult to photograph without going down to road level but it is essentially acting like a ramp.
Obviously this poses a risk for both road users and pedestrians, as mentioned above it is also disturbing residents frequently.
Please, please get this patch levelled - it stretches from the curb to at least the central markings and so is quite serious...

This issue has still not been fixed. A much smaller issue on the other side of the road was fixed but not this issue. This is on Brownhill road heading to Catford NOT Lee. Yesterday was cycling and turning right on to my drive the dip caused my chain to bounce off and get lodged. This caused me to loose control of my bike and come off. Luckily the traffic in that lane was being held at the red lights further down the road. This won't always be the case and request that this issue, which is a poor repair Which has got progressively worse over time is fixed asap.

The road has dropped so much in this area that each individual car that passes over the pothole causes the entire building to shake. I've observed the hole degrade significantly over the winter months and if we get any further cold/wet weather the situation is going to become much more dangerous. What is most disappointing is that resurfacing works were done on this exact stretch of road recently, and for some reason they stopped before getting to the major pothole on this site. You can visibly see the new surface ending about 2 feet away from the major area of issue.

I like the other residents commenting on this post have serious concerns about the degrading of this surface area and the impact it is having on traffic daily.
Whenever I am waiting to cross the road I see every vehicle bounce significantly. It is an accident waiting to happen - someone here has already recorded an incident.
Not only this but I am woken up throughout the night by HGVs travelling at speed causing significant noise and vibration. This is therefore impacting on my ability quality of sleep.
As above, I too am confused as to why this hasn’t been rectified by now - and indeed why it was not when previous works were carried out…that likely contributed to this issue!
This needs to be fixed as a matter of urgency.
