Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 11:00, Thu 16 February 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4237438.
The lane closure is causing major disruption on the A40 no work done and how long is this going to continue the traffic management is not sufficient for the volume of vehicle and HGV using the A40 and no contact numbers to be able to complain that there was no notice of the lane closer or for how long this is going to be in place. local authorities have no information and tfl have no direct complaint email or phone number TFL should have this on there web page. public notice should be in place weeks ago for the lane closure and how long works are going to be in place

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. Whilst the disruption is regrettable the VRS barriers in the central reservation for this section of the A40 are no longer up to spec and require replacement. Mitigations such as the hard shoulder being used to facilitate two running lanes in each directions are in place and do provide enough room for HGVs. There are also recovery vehicles stationed nearby at all times. Stakeholders were consulted on these works.
Installation of the traffic management will be complete by the end of next week. These works will be in place until the 29/04/23. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused while the works are taking place.
