2 part manhole cover loose and knocking.
Reported via desktop in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 13:26, Thursday 23 February 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4257811.
A 2 part manhole cover in the inside lane of the A3 Malden Way opposite house number 279 is knocking when heavy vehicles (Transit vans and larger) go over it 24 hours a day. With heavy vehicles going through all night, this is affecting our sleep. This happens to this cover every 2 years or so and it has to be fixed (it was ignored some years ago and eventually the cover flipped onto the carriageway causing massive traffic congestion and near accidents). PLEASE NOTE - IF YOU INSPECT THIS MANHOLE AFTER OR DURING RAIN, IT DOES NOT, FOR WHATEVER REASON, KNOCK. PLEASE INSPECT ONLY IN DRY WEATHER. Thank you.
