Overflowing mud causing dangerous situation
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 13:45, Monday 27 March 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4364099.
The pavement on A217 outside 26/28 Belmont Rise is full of mud which overflows and comes onto the pavement and the main road when cars and vans regularly drive into it to make a turn. When it rains, this causes a safety issue as the cars from 26/28 Belmont Rise often lose traction while joining the road and have had a few near misses due to this mud making the access to the road slippery. It is impossible to clean this mud everyday and this needs a permanent solution otherwise a serious accident will result in the loss of life.
