If the defect is confirmed as a safety issue, it will be made safe within 24 hours. A permanent repair, if needed will be carried out during our next programmed works for the area, or sooner if we can.   This is not a minor pothole and is a serious safety issue. The photo does not show the depth of this hole. I have seen cars and lorries nearly collide as they try to avoid this hole to prevent damage to their own vehicles.

• This pothole has been 'fixed', presumably only temporarily as the fill does not reach the level of the rest of the road. Traffic is already causing noise and some vibration when it passes over.
