Traffic lights reprogramming required
Reported via Android in the General Fault category anonymously at 08:38, Tuesday 11 April 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4422912.
Currently at this fork, when the vehicle traffic lights on fork's RH lane towards belmarsh prison turns green, the vehicle traffic lights on fork's LH lane driving towards eastern way will be red. By right, the fork's both LH & RH lanes' vehicle traffic should be green/red concurrently to facilitate flow/stop of vehicles at these fork's respectively. Currently there are occasional traffic congestion at this fork as vehicles from 1 side blocks the other due to lights performing simultaneously instead of green/red together at the same time.
There is also servere danger of collision when vehicles accelerate off following green indicators of vehicle traffic light of LH Lane at this fork. This is because the vehicular flow from fork clashes with oncoming traffic of western way, as the lights from western way will also be green.
Reprogramming both LH and RH lights of this fork go green/red together closes this risk altogether as oncoming traffic from western way will be waiting on a red light and allow vehicles at this fork to clear.
