Works for London operatives working without adequate barriers - A3 West Hill in footway - Friday 14th April
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 09:40, Tue 18 April 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4454691.
Dear Sir/Madam
Please pass this to the relevant department as an FYI, as last Friday morning around 8:45AM, I noticed Works for London operatives digging on the edge of the footway without adequate barriers as per the attached photos,
The barriers were not sufficient to go around them and are the wrong type (normally only used to open manhole covers), the larger barriers which clip together are normally used for excavation works, fortunately there were no pedestrians around. This was on the opposite side of the road to the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.
Hopefully in future the works personnel can be provided with the correct/adequate barriers around them to safeguard both themselves and vehicles and pedestrians.
Many Thanks
