Rocking and noisy manhole

Hello, this manhole drives people nuts. It’s been so loud for the last week or two. Thusands of cars drive over it every day and it is very loud as some of cars are putting more pressure. It is just next to Southend Lane bus stop, Bromley Road. Please send someone to fix it asap as it makes life miserable. I have a video, if you are interested.

If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date.   • Hello, I know a team came in the night and they were drilling. They removed a temporary solution and now a manhole is bouncing again. I am not sure, if there will be another fix. But still the same- loud and banging every time a car is driving over it (most cars). :-(

  • Hello, please act on it. Still not fixed properly. They put a tarmac around it but it didn’t help at all. It is the same loud or even worse! It is banging a lot, often cars are going one by one over it. Yesterday I was walking back home and a big lorry drove over it- the noise was unbearable.

  • Hi! I’m afraid the problem continues, despite any remedial works undertaken. It no exaggeration to say that it sounds like a gun-shot whenever a vehicle rolls over it at any moderate speed. It is scary for pedestrians and residents, and surely can’t be good for the iron ware!!
