Traffic lights causing congestion

Reported via desktop in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 13:11, Friday 21 April 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4470271.

The new traffic lights at the junction of Welling Way & Rochester Way are causing conjestion and therefore more pollution. Traffic turning right into Welling Way now has to wait for the green arrow, rather than the previous method of being able to turn when there is sufficient gap in the oncoming traffic. It is causing tailbacks along Rochester Way, especially during rush hour as the cars who wish to go straight on have to queue behind those who wish to turn right. Please consider returning to the previous traffic light system to improve the congestion and reduce pollution levels.
