Cones on Pavement left without fixing problem
Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 07:50, Wednesday 26 April 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4486527.
I reported on 27 March about an uneven surface / cracked paving slab which your team then updated by putting safety cones to cover the pavement. Since then nothing has been done and now the defect has been closed as fixed. Please note it has not been fixed. The pavement is still muddy and it now a bigger risk as moving the car in and out needs the entire road traffic to slow down. We have already had three near misses where cars from either direction had to stop to allow cars parking in the houses behind the pavement needing time to enter. The pavement on A217 outside 26/28 Belmont Rise is still full of mud which overflows and comes onto the pavement and the main road when cars and vans regularly drive into it to make a turn. When it rains, this causes a safety issue as the cars from 26/28 Belmont Rise often lose traction while joining the road and have had a few near misses due to this mud making the access to the road slippery. It is impossible to navigate around these stationary cones and your team needs to create a permanent solution otherwise this is now even a more serious situation where an accident will result in the loss of life.
