Pedestrian crossing lights not working properly.

Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 20:08, Tue 9 May 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4534017.

These lights go red spontaneously - they do not need a pedestrian to press a button.

The proof is that there is only 5 seconds between them going green and then turning red again with no pedestrians in sight.

Updates

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this issue to us, we appreciate it. We have checked and the traffic lights here are working as intended. These traffic lights use a system called Green Person Authority which means that they are set to remain on the green signal for pedestrians until a vehicle approaches, they will then change automatically to give the green signal to vehicles. Once the vehicles have passed the signals they will change back to green for pedestrians. Should you need anything else, or have any questions, you may wish to contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234
