Loose manholes on A2

Reported via desktop in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 13:55, Wednesday 10 May 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4537448.

We have been kept awake the last few nights by a constant clanging - I have identified one loose manhole cover on A2 southbound but there is one other before this one it isroughly in the location that I have marked on the map - I contacted the Highways people but they referred me here. This is quite dangerous as I have observed it lifting 2 or 3 inches before slamming down

Updates

  • This now has been silenced - thank you

  • I previously reported that this was silenced - but unfortunately this is not the case - there must have been less traffic at that time - the constant clanging of this manhole covering can be heard contantly from quite a distance and is a noisy disturbance to the local houses
