Loose Drain or Manhole Cover

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4537690.

Drain or man hole cover dangerously loose. Can hear cars driving over it making a loud banging, clanging noise and suspect it may become dislodged and cause damage or an accident.

If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date. If it is owned by another company this will be passed to them for a permanent repair.   • Hello, the manhole cover is constantly being driven over with a loud clanging noise day and night. Not only is this dangerous and seeing car swerve to avoid it, it is loud and disturbing.

    When will this be investigated?

  • I have made a video of the noise the drain makes at 23.00 and throughout the night. Unfortunately am unable to upload the clip. If this was a neighbour making this noise at night, it would be deemed as a nuisance and unacceptable. This has been an issue before and was fixed very quickly. It seems these days nothing gets done.
