Faulty

Reported via Android in the General Fault category anonymously at 11:34, Friday 12 May 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4545988.

Good Morning - the traffic lights on Eastern Avenue A12 has been turned off now for over a week. We have to cross the very road every day for school, after school activities etc. This is very dangerous not having traffic lights that work. We have to wait for several minutes before we can narrowly / not very safely cross the road. Please can you get the lights working again ASAP. Thanks

Updates

  • Hello,

These light have not been working for far too long. It is unacceptable and a danger to the general public and drivers. See image attached where woman with a pram is trying to cross. Note that this crossing is in great use indeed due to people walking down to Redbridge station. Cars zoom up from the roundabout, blink and you miss them, it is not unreasonable for an accident to happen (road or pedestrian), this used to happen extremely often before the lights were instilled. We live a few doors up from the lights, not only is it dangerous from a crossing perspective but also challenging to reverse out of your drive and get o to the main road due to the lack of gaps in traffic now.

This must be fixed IMMEDIATELY. It is CRITICAL for safety. We can’t stress this enough.

  • Your estimation of urgency is incorrect. It may be non urgent from a traffic light perspective but it is urgent from a pedestrian perspective. I strongly recommend the priority is reviewed here. These lights being out is dangerous. Clearly someone else has commented and agrees with me. See above. I am aware other residents have also submitted complaints.
