Roadworks

As you drive over Kew Bridge towards two of three lanes are closed - the left turn towards Brentford and one of the two right turn lanes, channeling all the traffic over Kew Bridge into one lane. There is then light phasing with oncoming traffic who have to alternate between using the one lane. Firstly, it’s not clear where pedestrians can cross and my husband was almost hit by a bus trying to cross the road. The lights are out and cars are being directed onto alternate roads. Second, the traffic is horrendous causing misery for car users and unbelievable pollution for those walking on the pavement and people in the local area. The tailback went into Kew Village and down the Kew Road. The issue here is there is no road-words in this area of the road to the right of the bridge and no obvious reason for the road to be blocked. At one point I did see a roadworks car parked and if parking is the only reason for lane heading right over Kew Bridge to be closed, it is not justified to cause so much disruption and a safety risk to pedestrians as well as incredible pollution in the area. It needs to be looked into immediately.
