Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 11:14, Wednesday 12 July 2023
Sent to TfL 3 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS4778244.
2 road signs have been erected on Crown lane notifying o f 24 hour road closures between 27/07/2023 and 27/08/2023. There is no official log o the TfL website. if the road is indeed closed for 24 hours this will cause huge disruptions and may stop residents from leaving their homes,

The dates on the boards are actually from 20/07/23 until 21/08/23. This is going to cause traffic carnage! However, there is nothing on the Merton Council website. Why are people not being warned with more than a couple of yellow boards?!

There is absolutely no information on this from the council or on our website, you have made it impossible to speak to anyone by phone . People need to have information to deal with the major disruption this will cause - in my case travel to vitally important hosp ital appointments. No wonder travel in London is a nightmare , TFL is not fit for purpose

Why no information anywhere on the TFL website about how traffic and buses are going to be affected by the proposed works

After contacting my local councillor, Merton Council have at least given this update. Answers some questions but TfL are still refusing to acknowledge the impact on buses.. https://www.merton.gov.uk/ streets-parking-transport/ roadworks/ current-roadworks-and-traffic-disruptions

Roadworks have started and still absolutely no information. Currently Crown Road to Crown Lane move not possible. Buses going TO Morden ok. Going away from Morden 164 is going down A24, Along Tudor Drive, back along Hillcross Avenue to rejoin route at Links Avenue. Not sure what other routes are doing.

Update: No buses down Hillcross Avenue from Morden to The Beverley Roundabout. All buses ok going towards Morden. All buses from Morden go down London Road, along Tudor Drive. 163 carries on to Raynes Park, 293 turns down Lower Morden Lane towards Recycling Centre, 164 and 413 both go back down Hillcross to pick up normal route at the end of Links Avenue. All of this is until 28 July, when other movements in central Morden are not possible.

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. We carried out a letter drop to all the household directly affected by the work including businesses and offices within the affected area.
There are already VMS signs with 6 AWS signs on major approaches to the work.
We will continue to engage with residents while the works are ongoing. We will also continue to monitor the disruptions with bus passengers. We are also working with our Local Communities Partnership team for the possibility of advertising this work on TfL website and on Twitter. If the issue persists, please raise another report or contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234.
