Vehicles should not be allowed to make right hand turn into Grasmere Avenue from Crown Road during this phase of roadworks
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 10:29, Sat 29 July 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS4837743.
The second phase of the roadworks in Morden by Crown Lane/Road began last night and its been a nightmare for residents. Vehicles are not permitted to turn left towards Morden HOWEVER they are now turning right into Grasmere Avenue from crown Road and then using Grasmere Avenue to do a u-turn and then turning left towards Morden. This has resulted in a real backlog of traffic on Crown Road as the vehicles on Crown Road have to wait for them to turn into Grasmere Avenue so the current signage is not allowing the traffic to flow as it should. Other vehicles trqavelling towards Morden from Crown Lane are blocking the junction of Crown/Grasmere (keep clear box) and there has been constant horn blowing and shouting all night! Also, it is now extremely dangerous fro pedestrians on Grasmere Avenue due to cars turning just past the junction. Why not stop the right hand turn into Grasmere from Crown Road with cones? This was done when the previous roadwords were carried out a couple of years ago?
