Pedestrian crossing extremely loud
Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 11:50, Mon 18 September 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5005376.
The pedestrian crossing beep is very loud and is a constant noise disturbance which is undermining the living standards of residents living on this road, including those who work from home and those with young children. It goes off continuously during the day, including early morning and late at night, and should be reviewed urgently. The other crossings on the road are silent and provide a tactile rotating signal for accessibility. Please can this noise be turned off. Assistance as soon as possible would be very much appreciated.

Please can the sound be switched off on this crossing - it beeps loudly throughout the day and night and the repeat sound is causing a damaging effect on the mental health for residents on both sides of this quiet stretch of road. The council say this is the responsibility of TFL. There are green man lights on this crossing to show when to cross as well as a rotating signal for accessibility. Please can you arrange for the crossing alert sound to be turned off and for the crossing to be a silent one, as others are in this area.
