Risks to cyclists using cycle lane with vehicules turning left
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 11:14, Sun 1 October 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5049077.
Cycle rout 50 work. New cycle lane installed, closed at the beginning, but cyclists join beyond closure point. Risk as they reach the Tollington road and Hornsey Road junction, continuing straight, while vehicles turn left on Hornsey road. No sign telling drivers they can't turn left anymore (bar road mark). I witnessed several near misses. Please install more effective signs to prevent cyclists from using the lane, especially at junction (traffic cones are getting moved).

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. On Monday 9 October the left-turn ban will be in place. The cycle lane is not formally open so cyclists really shouldn’t be using it. We have put barriers in the cycle lane as best we can to ensure that cyclists do not use the lane.
Ated.

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. On Monday all the no left turn signs will be unbagged and traffic will not be able to make the turn except for coaches on match days when Emirates will marshal cyclists across the junction.
