Not working properly
Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 07:11, Wed 18 October 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5108524.
First a big inconvenience - heading westbound turning right takes far too long to turn green - especially when the traffic heading eastbound is extremely low in volume.
After a long wait, the right-turn (northbound) light doesn't go green sometimes. The lights turn red, and you have another long wait for north-south crossing to finish, and then rventually when westbound traffic can go, it takes so long for right (northbound) to turn green you're left wondering if it's not going to skip again. This is causing cars to run a red light, and leaves impatient drivers to skip the queue from behind to turn right (northbound), this puts the driver at the front of the red light at risk, and also runs the risk that north-south bound lights could go green.
Apart from the nonsense waiting time, it's just unsafe and is either set deliberately to occasionally stay red, or the lights are faulty.
