Signage very unsafe

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 00:41, Fri 20 October 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5115773.

There are road works on the A12 Eastern Avenue between Petits lane and Gallows Corner. I was driving west bound towards Petits lane. The signage is unsafe. It is a 50 mph dual carriage way and has signs to drop to 30 mph. There should be a countdown from a mile to 800 yards, however, the countdown is from 300 yards. The length of the taper needs to be 150 metres, but its about 30 yards. Cars are swerving as its a lane closure and the signage is inadequate. Needs to be looked into before a accident happens.
