Faulty

Reported via desktop in the Pedestrian wait button not working category anonymously at 11:09, Wed 15 November 2023

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5214419.

I find it difficult to use this crossing. It’s the much used traffic light on the new river walkway. I think it is controlled with a sensor- once you push the button for the green man, you have to wait right up close to the road otherwise it just turns off. I have two young children and for their safety from road traffic and pollution I can’t wait so close to the road. It is much safer to take a step at least back. But then you can never cross because it thinks no one is there! Please could you reposition the sensors to take in a wider area or be angled back a bit. I appreciate your looking into this matter. I know it’s not just me- I often see people puzzled and frustrated as to why the lights aren’t changing even though they pressed the button!
