No activity at major HS2 roadworks on A40 Western Ave
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 11:22, Fri 1 December 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5271916.
These roadworks cause major tailbacks every day of the week along the A40 Western Avenue in both directions - yet most of the time there is no-one on site and no works taking place. This completely ignores TfL's Roadworks Pledge (as summarised at https://tfl.gov.uk/ help-and-contact/ report-roadworks). The works have been going on since August and it is now December.

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. The current phase from 17/11 to 10/12 are night works only due to works high impact, the works are requesting two lanes closure in each direction. There are no roadworks in the daytime; however, one lane closure in each direction are still on site to protect the unfinished working area and excavation area which cannot be cleared. Meanwhile, we are working closely with NPD and NMCC colleagues to try to mitigate the impacts. If the issue persists, please raise another report or contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234.
