Incorrectly laid cycleway
Reported via desktop in the Standing water category anonymously at 09:58, Fri 8 December 2023
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5295394.
Your contractors have incorrectly laid the brand-new cycle lane that heads northbound towards City Road. There is no gradient fall, and as such, water pools. There is a clear defect.
In the Netherlands, street work contracts stipulate that cycle lanes must be machine-laid for exactly this reason, as hand-laying cycle tracks more often than not result in an uneven surface.
I trust that this defect will be corrected at cost by your contractor.
