No pedestrian traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 11:06, Wednesday 13 March 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5703637.

I am writing to you regarding the traffic lights in The Hyde area in Colindale, specifically 'Edgware Road / The Hyde'.

Ever since I lived in this area the absence of pedestrian traffic lights have made my journey anxious and stressful. Crossing the street makes me feel worried for myself and people that I care about.

Now, as there are roadworks going around, there are no regular traffic lights anymore only temporary ones. But us pedestrians cannot see even the car lights to know when is safe to cross. Before, at least we could tell when to cross by observing the car traffic lights. There is no way a pedestrian can cross safely now that we cannot even see what cars see.

There is a 4 way street, meaning you have to look out for all the angles before crossing..

It would be greatly appreciated for additional temporary lights to be put for pedestrians as well untill a solution can fix this permanently.

This is very odd that the hazard has not been spotted before. Accidents are really prone to happen when we cannot see when is safe to cross..

Thank you for taking the time to read this and looking forward to hear from you.
