Cycle lane lights confusing drivers

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 10:59, Sat 11 May 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5959159.

The lights for the westbound cycle lane at the junction of the A104 and A114 are confusing car drivers, so if they aren’t paying enough attention, they think they can turn left into the A114 when the pedestrian crossing is green at the north end of the road. The cycle lane lights are the same height at the car lane lights. There have I have almost been hit several times by cars, and have small children, so this is a potentially lethal situation. There is aleady a set of lights for cyclists lower down, so the higher lights - circled in the photo I’ve attached - aren’t necessary and are making the crossing very dangerous. This has been an issue for months, but I’ve only just out that the cycle lights are either causing it or making it worse.
