Loud Manhole Cover Still Not Fixed

Reported via mobile in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 22:04, Mon 13 May 2024

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS5969514.

This loose manhole cover has still not been fixed or looked at. It has been well over a month now of constant extreme noise day and night, yet not a single thing has been actioned.

This NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP, so that we can sleep again. You cannot keep ignoring this problem, it has been flagged multiple times for months now.

Do not mark this post as actioned until the noise is fixed

Updates

  • This is not the noisy manhole. It's right on the new pedestrian crossing on the side with the new school. The previous noisy one has been fixed (it was lower down the road) but this one just started rocking for a few weeks.

  • We have raise a Section 81 notice. please note this is not a TfL asset it is a third party owner and they are responsible for the permanent repair. we have tasked our contractor to make safe however it is the utility provider to arrange a full repair TfL are not responsible for third party asset repair we can only make safeThank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. This has been investigated and we have now referred it to our contractors. If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date. If it is owned by another company this will be passed to them for a permanent repair.
